Moodboard - modeling - simulation - texturing - rendering - compositing - editing
This is a product image created as part of an assignment focused on lighting and visualizing heat-resistant qualities.
As part of the project, we visited photographer Nadim in his studio once again to observe how he works with fire and water in product photography.
The task was to create a product image with a solid-colored background, using fire and different types of smoke to emphasize the durability of a heat-resistant product.
The challenge was to balance the visual effects with clear product visibility, using lighting, contrast, and atmosphere to highlight the product’s toughness under extreme conditions.
For this project, I wanted to explore food modeling and texturing.
I modeled a frying pan in Blender and used textures from BlenderKit. I also sculpted some chilis, haricots verts, and carrot slices, and created the materials for them directly in Blender. The shrimp (by Cptoey) and broccoli (by HaVe) were sourced from Sketchfab.
To create the fire simulation, I experimented with Embergen for the first time. It was fun to try a new tool, and I really enjoyed working with its node-based workflow.
